Detailed description
Series "Biblical Art" 2007
The motif of this coin won second place in the Vicenza Numismatica International Coin Design Competition, held in Italy.
The exclusive gold coin, issued by the Bank of Israel in 2007, is dedicated to famous biblical events, this time the motif of the Wolf and Lamb was chosen, based on the prophecy of the prophet Isaiah about the coming of the Messiah and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
The coin is the twelfth in the world's popular "Biblical Art" series and depicts on its reverse the motif of a wolf and lamb resting peacefully and safely under a tree with a fig tree on the left and a vine on the right. In the centre of the tree flies a dove with an olive branch in its beak.
The obverse depicts in the centre an extract from Isaiah's prophecy in English/Hebrew: 'And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb Isaiah 11:6'. The inscription is surrounded by the denomination, the year of issue and "ISRAEL" in English/Hebrew/Arabic.
The coin comes in a gift box in a limited edition of only 555 pieces for the entire world!
