This exclusive gold coin, issued by the Bank of Israel in 1994, is dedicated to famous biblical events. The motif chosen for the first coin in this series was called "Binding of Isaac".
The coin is the first in the world's popular "Biblical Art" series and depicts on its reverse the motif of Rembrandt's famous painting, The Angel Binding of Isaac, which depicts the famous biblical story of Abraham sacrificing his own son Isaac to God.
The obverse shows the national emblem of Israel, the sacrificial altar, the face value, the year of issue, the inscription in English/Hebrew: "Binding of isaac "Rembrandt "amsterdam 1634" and "ISRAEL" in English/Hebrew/Arabic.
The coin comes in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 1209 pieces for the whole world!
