Detailed description
Series "Biblical Art" 2005
The exclusive gold coin, issued by the Bank of Israel in 2005, is dedicated to famous biblical events, this time the theme chosen was Moses and the Ten Commandments.
The coin is the tenth in the world's popular "Biblical Art" series and depicts on its reverse a radiant Moses with the Ten Commandments in his arms and a cloud over his head. The ten commandments are always stamped with the first Hebrew word of one commandment. The motif symbolizes the foundations of human existence and the emergence of human ethics for all monotheistic religions.
The obverse depicts the national emblem of Israel, a glowing decalogue with the first word of one commandment in ancient Hebrew, the face value, the year of issue, the inscription in English/Hebrew/Arabic: "MOSES AND THE TEN COMMANDMENTS EXODUS, 20:34" and "ISRAEL" in English/Hebrew/Arabic.
The coin comes in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 555 pieces for the whole world!
