Golden Maple Leaf 2014 - Incuse Fractional Set
An exclusive set of four gold coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint for 2014. The coins were minted in 2013 in 99.99% purity of the purest 24 karat gold in 1 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/10 Oz and 1/20 Oz - a historic first - in a special design called Incuse (One of the oldest methods of coinage - the design is not above the surface of the coin and therefore does not create a relief, but is struck deep into the coin).
All four gold coins depict the beautiful maple leaf motif by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc on their reverse. The coins depict three overlapping maple leaves. The motif is accompanied by the inscriptions "CANADA", "FINE GOLD OR PUR", weight, purity, and the artist's initials "PL" on the left.
The obverse of each coin displays the denomination (50 dollars, 10 dollars, 5 dollars and 1 dollar), the year of issue, the inscription "ELIZABETH II" and the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
The coins come in a deluxe lacquered maple wood box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a very limited edition of only 600 pieces for the entire world!
