Golden Maple Leaf 2001 - Viking Heritage
This rare set of five gold coins, issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2001 in 99.99% purity of the purest 24 karat gold weighing 1 Oz, 1/2 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/10 Oz and 1/20 Oz, is dedicated to the first explorers of Canada - the Vikings.
All five gold coins feature a beautiful maple leaf motif on the reverse. The motif is accompanied by the inscriptions "CANADA", "FINE GOLD OR PUR", weight and purity. A special coin mark (Privy mark) located to the left below the leaf depicts a Viking ship.
The obverse of each coin shows the face value, year of issue, the inscription "ELIZABETH II" and the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pedery-Hunt.
The coins come in a luxurious lacquered maple wood box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a very limited edition of only 1000 pieces for the entire world!
