Golden Maple Leaf 2020 - hologram
This exclusive set of four gold coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint for 2020 is dedicated to the Maple Leaf gold investment coins. The coins are minted in absolute purity of the purest 99.999% gold and weigh 1 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/10 Oz and 1/20 Oz.
The design for the reverse side of the coins was created by Canadian artist and illustrator Luc Normandin. The traditional motif for this type of set is the maple leaf. For 2020, four young sugar maple leaves growing from a single branch were chosen as a promise of something new to come. A special technology sets a new direction, thanks to which a full hologram has been created on the reverse side to the edge of the coin. Also new is that all four coins of the set bear this special treatment, rather than just the highest weight coins as in previous issues. The colored hologram adds a realistic texture and luster to the individual sheets when the coin is tilted. The design includes the inscription "CANADA", the weight and purity of the metal, the year of issue and the initials of the artist "LN".
The obverse features a portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "D.G. REGINA", the denomination (50 DOLLARS, 10 DOLLARS, 5 DOLLARS and 1 DOLLARS) and the artist's initials "SB".
The coins come in a deluxe maple leaf-shaped box made of varnished maple wood along with a certificate of authenticity in a very limited edition of only 500 sets for the whole world!
