Golden Maple Leaf 1999 - 20th Anniversary
A rare set of five gold coloured coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1999 in 99.99% purity of the purest 24 karat gold weighing 1 Oz, 1/2 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/10 Oz and 1/20 Oz, celebrates 20 years since the first Maple Leaf gold investment coin was issued in 1979.
All five gold coins feature a beautiful red-coloured maple leaf motif on the reverse. The coins were specially coloured at the Valcambi SA refinery in Switzerland. The motif is accompanied by the inscriptions "CANADA", "FINE GOLD OR PUR", weight and purity. A special mint mark (Privy mark) placed under the sheet for the 1 Oz coin shows fireworks and for the other fractions the inscription "20 YEARS ANS".
The obverse of each coin shows the face value, year of issue, the inscription "ELIZABETH II" and the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The coins are supplied in a luxury lacquered maple wood box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a very limited edition of only 500 pieces for the entire world!
