The Polish Mint XXI comes up with the most extensive series of The Great Greek Mythology yet. The issue of this unique series is planned for 4 years and will offer a total of 36 silver selectively gilded coins in 3 different sizes. The individual coins will present us the most famous figures of Greek mythology, processed to the smallest detail thanks to the high relief design.
The ancient Greeks believed that gods had the same qualities and emotions as mortals. This is probably why Greek myths are so popular and contain a huge number of stories. In them, the gods act like humans and can be noble or vengeful, deceitful or honest. They can love and hate, envy and wish, feel anger and joy.
Each silver coin tells a fascinating story about the gods, heroes and mythical creatures of ancient Olympus.

Cyclops 1 Oz

The reverse of the coin depicts in detail the Cyclops, an unusual creature with a huge eye in the centre of its forehead. The giant is clad in armor and holds a partially gilded hammer in his hand, which serves him in battle. His muscular figure is wrapped in chains that flow loosely into the coin's rim. The background behind the figure is decorated with a typical Greek design. The name of the coin "CYCLOPS" is written in large letters at the bottom.

Aphrodite 2 Oz

The reverse of the coin depicts a beautiful goddess with flowing hair, in which she wears a braided headdress with a shining star. The girl is dressed in a robe and holds a selectively gilded apple in her hands. She is surrounded by scenes from the sea - wild waves and dolphins jumping in them. At her left elbow is a giant sea shell. The rim of the coin is decorated with a fine mosaic resembling shells and the inscription "APHRODITE" protruding above the surface of the coin.

Poseidon 3 Oz

The reverse of the coin depicts Poseidon rising from the stormy sea in detail. The god holds a gilded trident in his right hand, and the same motif appears on his crown. His muscular figure is surrounded by various sea scenes, with fish, octopuses, sailing ships and human figures swimming in the waves. The background of the coin is decorated with Greek figures with drawings of small fish. The rim of the coin is illustrated with a fine mosaic of tridents and craquats. The name of the coin "POSEIDON" appears at the bottom.

The obverse side of the coin depicts the Temple of Zeus in ancient Olympia surrounded by a laurel wreath. Above the upper part of the wreath the year of issue is written, at the bottom the purity of the coin. The rim of the coin is decorated with a typical Greek design with the inscription "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN", the face value, year of issue and weight. Two ancient columns intersect the centre of the rim.

The coins are supplied in a luxury box together with a certificate of authenticity, in a limited edition of 500 pieces (Aphrodite and Cyclops) and 333 pieces (Poseidon).
