Rwanda - Year of the Rabbit 2023
Issued for the year 2023 and minted in the purest 99.9% silver, the 1 Oz (31.1 g) silver lunar coin of the Republic of Rwanda is dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle and the zodiac, which in 2023 represents the Year of the Rabbit.
The reverse of the coin bears the motif of a hare depicted in a stylized mosaic. The Chinese character for the "Year of the Hare" is incorporated at the top. This is followed by the inscriptions "LUNAR OUNCE" (left) and the weight, fineness and year of issue (right). At the bottom, the inscription "YEAR OF THE RABBIT" is placed on the background of the mosaic.
People born in the Year of the Rabbit (1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011) are characterized as good-natured, sensitive, talkative but also able to listen patiently. They therefore have many friends whom they help. Their life is mostly peaceful and unchanging, people in the sign of the hare like to argue, need to be right and are stubborn. Thanks to this, they achieve everything they want.
The obverse of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of Rwanda surrounded by the inscriptions 'BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA' and the denomination 'AMAFARANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU'.
