Rwanda - Year of the Tiger 2022
Issued for the year 2022 and struck in the purest 99.9% silver with a weight of 1 Oz (31.1 g), the silver lunar coin of the Republic of Rwanda is dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle and the zodiac, which in 2022 represents the Year of the Tiger.
The reverse of the coin bears a tiger motif depicted in a stylized mosaic. The Chinese character for the "Year of the Tiger" is incorporated at the top. This is followed by the inscriptions "LUNAR OUNCE" (left) and the weight, fineness and year of issue (right). At the bottom, the inscription "YEAR OF THE TIGER" is placed on the background of the mosaic.
People born in the Year of the Tiger (1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010 and 2022) are characterized as charming, confident and competitive individuals with leadership skills. They handle life situations with insight and stubbornness.
The obverse of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of Rwanda surrounded by the inscriptions 'BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA' and the denomination 'AMAFARANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU'.
