Rwanda - Year of the Dog 2018
The 2018 Republic of Rwanda silver lunar investment coin, minted in the purest 99.9% silver and weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), is dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle - the Year of the Dog.
The reverse of the coin bears the motif of a dog depicted in a stylized mosaic. The Chinese character for the "Year of the Dog" is incorporated at the top. This is followed by the inscriptions "LUNAR OUNCE" (left) and the weight, fineness and year of issue (right). At the bottom, the inscription "YEAR OF THE DOG" is placed on the background of the mosaic. People born in the Year of the Dog (1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018) are known to be honest, loyal and faithful people. The obverse of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of Rwanda surrounded by the inscriptions "BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA" and the denomination "AMAFARANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU".
