Rwanda - Year of the Pig 2019
The 2019 Republic of Rwanda silver lunar investment coin, minted in 99.9% purest silver and weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), is dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle - the Year of the Pig.
The reverse of the coin bears the motif of a pig depicted in a stylized mosaic. The Chinese character for the "Year of the Pig" is incorporated at the top. This is followed by the inscriptions 'LUNAR OUNCE' (left) and the weight, fineness and year of issue (right). At the bottom, the inscription 'YEAR OF THE PIG' is placed on the background of the mosaic. People born in the Year of the Pig (1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019) are characterized as loving, romantic, inquisitive, friendly and reliable personalities. The obverse of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of Rwanda surrounded by the inscriptions "BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA" and the denomination "AMAFARANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU".
