Assassins - Nizaris 2 Oz
An exclusive silver coin issued by the State of Niue in 2019 in ultra-high relief weighing 2 troy ounces (62.2 g), in purity of the purest 99.9% silver with an Antique Standard finish, this is the first coin in the Assassins series and is dedicated to the secret Middle Eastern Muslim sect of the Nizari Ismailis - the Nizaris.
The coin bears in high relief on its reverse three figures of Assassins ready for battle. The warriors are depicted in traditional dress and with drawn gilded daggers. In the background is the mountain fortress of Alamut in the Elbrus Mountains, the political centre of the Nizari Ismailites between 1090 and 1256. The motif of the coin is executed in a very elaborate minting, which is evident in the details and allows to feel the atmosphere of danger. The name of the series "ASSASSINS" is placed at the top of the coin and the name of the coin "NIZARIS" and its transcription in Arabic at the bottom.
Assassin was a member of a secret Muslim sect operating in the Middle East in the Middle Ages. He was a follower of a specific ideology of the Nizariyya Ismailis, which arose from the teachings of Iman Nizaris after the split from the Ismaili strand of Shi'i Islam. From their centre in the fortress of Alamut they undertook murderous expeditions in the name of their faith. They inspired terror and over time became synonymous with ruthless killers.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with Arabic ornaments incorporating two daggers. The inner die-cut features a traditional portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II with the inscription "ELIZABETH II" and mintage indications. The coin's description includes the denomination "5 DOLLARS", the issuer and the year of issue "NIUE 2019".
The coin comes in its original box with a certificate of authenticity, limited to only 999 pieces for the entire world! Only 499 pieces will go to the collectors market, the rest is for those interested in the subject, fans of history, games and characters.
