Assassins series
The dark history of world cultures and religions is reminiscent of the Assassins series. The title comes from the name of the secret sect of the Assassins (Ḥashshāshīn) operating in many areas of what is now Syria and Iran. The name of the group of masked warriors, notorious for their brutality and insidiousness, has passed into English and become synonymous with assassins. The Assassins were not the only ones, however; throughout history we find many other murderous units that terrorised society in the name of their god and committed bloody violence without regard for the victims.
The ruthless killers can be found depicted in high relief on silver coins weighing 2 ounces of silver.
