Somalia - African Wilderness 2019
The 2019 Republic of Somalia African Wildlife Series investment silver coins minted in the finest 99.99% pure silver with a weight of 1 Oz have been issued since 2004 by the Bavarian Mint in Munich, Germany (Das Bayerische Hauptmünzamt Mint) with a history dating back to 1158.
The reverse side of the coin depicts an elephant by the banks of a life-giving river. The abundance of moisture is evident in the surrounding vegetation under the scorching African sun. The rim is inscribed "AFRICAN WILDLIFE", "ELEPHANT", "1 oz Ag 999.9".
The obverse side of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of the Republic of Somalia - two leopards holding a shield with a five-pointed star. Below the shield are two crossed spears entwined by a ribbon and two crossed palm leaves. The obverse bears the inscription 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' accompanied by the year of issue and the denomination.
