Somalia - African Wilderness - Leopard 2018
The very popular silver investment coins are issued by the Republic of Somalia for 2018 in purity of the purest 99.99% silver weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g). The leopard motif is a new coin of the African Wildlife series, minted by the Bavarian Mint in Munich (Das Bayerische Hauptmünzamt Mint) with a tradition of more than 800 years (est. 1158).
The reverse side of the coin depicts a leopard in the African wilderness. The rim is inscribed with the words "AFRICAN WILDLIFE", "LEOPARD" and "1oz Ag 999.9".
The obverse side of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of the Republic of Somalia, two leopards holding a shield depicting a five-pointed star, with two crossed spears beneath the shield, entwined by a ribbon and two crossed palm leaves. Above the shield is the inscription 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' accompanied by the year of issue and the denomination.
