Somali Elephant - African Wildlife
Investment gold coins of the Republic of Somalia from the African Wildlife series, minted for the year 2026 in the purity of the purest 99.99% gold weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), have been issued since 2004 by the Bavarian Mint in Munich, Germany (Das Bayerische Hauptmünzamt Mint) with a history dating back to 1158.
The coin's reverse side depicts a pair of African elephants in a savannah environment, heading to a watering hole. The coin's rim is surrounded by the inscriptions "AFRICAN WILDLIFE", "ELEPHANT", and the weight and fineness of the metal.
The obverse of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of the Somali Republic - two leopards holding a shield with a five-pointed star, under the shield two crossed spears intertwined with a ribbon and two crossed palm leaves. Above the shield is the inscription "SOMALI REPUBLIC", on the sides the year of issue "2026" divided into tenths, and on the bottom the nominal value of the coin.
