Australian Kookaburra 2015 - 25th Anniversary
Australian Kookaburra silver investment coin issued by the Perth Mint in 2015 in the purest 99.9% silver purity. These coins are one of the most popular investment coins in the world and have been minted since 1990 in various sizes, designs and weights (10Kg, 1Kg, 10 oz, 5 oz, 2 oz, 1 oz, 1/2 oz).
The reverse traditionally depicts the Kookaburra, the symbol of Australia. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the Mint decided to use Dr. Stuart Devlin's first kingfisher motif published in 1990. The motif is accompanied by the inscription "THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA", the anniversary years "1990-2015", the special mint mark "P25" and the purity data. The Perth Mint has changed the kingfisher motif annually since 1990. This enhances the numismatic appreciation of the coins issued.
The obverse bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which is accompanied by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA", the denomination and the year of issue. The coin has Australian legal tender status and comes in a protective plastic capsule.
