The exclusive silver coin issued by the island state of Tokelau and minted by the Bratislava Mint Pressburg Mint in 2022 in high mintage quality and purity of the purest 99.99% silver weighing 1 Oz (31.3 g) is the fifth coin of the Equilibrium series, which presents a motif based on the theme of harmony and balance of human knowledge.
Released in 2018, the coins of this series work in a pictorial way with the idea of harmony between technology and nature, civilization and the environment, money and time, work and rest, and artificial and human intelligence.
The motif of the coin on its reverse side is laid out in the traditional symbol of the Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang. The symbol of balance contrasts the knowledge that is physically closest and farthest from us. Man still has not unlocked all the secrets in the intricate workings of the human brain, yet he constantly yearns to explore the depths of the universe surrounding our planet. The section devoted to the human body is structured by the folding of the cerebral cortex with the octagram as a symbol of knowledge. In contrast, the planet Earth is placed surrounded by shining stars and constellations. The motif includes the inscription "EQUILIBRIUM" and the denomination "5 DOLLARS".
The obverse of the coin bears a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian-Rank Broadley in its centre with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II - TOKELAU", the year of issue "2022" and the weight and purity of the metal. The background consists of an elaborate design based on sketches of an octagram.
