The gold investment coin issued by the State of Niue and minted by the New Zealand Mint is dedicated to the very rare and critically endangered Hawksbill turtle, also called Taku. These beautiful gold investment coins are minted in 1 ounce (31.1 g) of the purest 999.9 gold.
The side of the coin depicts a Taku turtle in the waters of the Pacific Ocean along with the purity and weight designation and the inscription "TURTLE".Reverse On
Obverse of the coin shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Brodley with the artist's initials "IRB" placed below the portrait. This is followed by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "NIUE", the denomination "250 DOLLARS" and the year of issue.
