Iconic Australian Swan 2023
This unique gold investment coin, minted by the Perth Mint in 2023 in the finest 99.99% pure gold, weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), bears the Mint's swan symbol on its reverse, which is also part of its logo. The Australian Swan coins were launched in 2017 and a new original design is prepared for each year, as is the case with the Kangaroo gold investment coins.
The reverse of the coin depicts a view of a white swan sailing across the calm water of the wetlands. Although black swans are primarily associated with the land of the Antarctic, there is a wild flock of white swans on the Avon River in the historic town of Northam in Western Australia. The swans, whose ancestors were brought here by settlers in 1896, have found a natural nesting ground and have become a popular attraction. They are cared for by volunteers who feed them every morning. The initials of the artist "AH" are part of the motif. The description of the coin states "THE 1 OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN GOLD SWAN".
The obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark with the initials "JC". The portrait on the coin's rim is accompanied by the name "ELIZABETH II", the years of the monarch's reign "1952 - 2022", the name of the state "AUSTRALIA", the year of issue "2023" and the face value. The coin has the status of Australian legal tender under the Monetary Act 1965.
The coin is supplied in a protective plastic capsule and the mintage is limited to just 5,000 worldwide!
