Ikonic Australian Swan 2026
The gold bullion coin, minted by the Perth Mint in 2026 in the purity of the purest 99.99% gold and weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), bears the mint symbol - the swan - on its reverse, which is also part of its logo. The Australian Swan coins were launched in 2016 and a new original motif is prepared for each year, as is the case with the Kangaroo gold bullion coins.
The coin's reverse depicts a view of a swan floating over a lake in the middle of a landscape with a clear sky in the background. The design is completed by the mint mark supplemented with the number 10 - "P10" - symbolizing the tenth anniversary of the swan motif and the initials of the author Aleysha Howarth "AH". The description of the coin includes the inscription "AUSTRALIAN GOLD SWAN", the year of issue "2026" and information on the weight and purity of the metal.
Although black swans are most associated with the land of the antipodes, a flock of white swans lives free on the Avon River in the historic town of Northam, Western Australia. The swans, whose ancestors were brought here by settlers in 1896, have found a natural nesting ground here and have become a popular attraction. They are cared for by volunteers who feed them every morning.
The obverse of the coin depicts a portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne with the initials “DT”. The portrait is accompanied by the inscriptions “CHARLES III”, “AUSTRALIA”, and the face value “100 DOLLARS” on the rim of the coin. The coin has the status of Australian legal tender under the Currency Act 1965.
The coin is supplied in a protective plastic capsule and its mintage is limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide!
