Iconic Australian swan on a gold investment coin
This unique gold investment coin was issued by the Perth Mint in 2017 in the finest 99.99% pure gold, weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g). The Australian Mint plans to issue these investment coins with a new design each year, as is the case with the Kangaroo gold bullion coins.
The reverse of the coin bears the profile of a swan, which is synonymous with the Perth Mint itself (it is even part of the Mint's logo). The swan is floating on a body of water, which is visible at the edge of the coin. The mint mark "P" is also present. The inscriptions "THE 1 OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN GOLD SWAN" line the reverse. The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA", the face value "100 DOLLARS", the year of issue "2017" and the artist's initials "IRB".
The coin comes in a protective plastic capsule and is limited to a mintage of just 5,000 worldwide!
