Australian Koala 2023
Australian Koala investment coins have been issued by the Perth Mint since 1990 in various weights and designs. Since 2018, the coins have been minted in the purest 99.99% silver purity. The Mint has been changing the koala motif every year since 2007, which increases the attractiveness of the coin and the interest of numismatists.
The reverse depicts a koala with a baby climbing up a tree trunk. The description includes the inscription "KOALA", the year of issue, the weight and purity of the metal. The mint mark "P" and the initials of the designer "IJ" are included.
The obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark with the initials "JC". The rim of the coin shows the years of the reign of the monarch "1952 - 2022", the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and the face value "1 DOLLAR". The coins come in a protective plastic capsule and have the status of Australian legal tender.
