Iconic Australian Swan 2022
This unique silver investment coin, minted by the Perth Mint in 2022 in the finest 99.99% pure silver, weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), bears the Mint's swan symbol on its reverse, which is also part of its logo. The Australian Swan coins were launched in 2017 and a new original design is prepared for each year, as is the case with the Kangaroo gold investment coins.
The coin features an idyllic image of a pair of black swans (Cygnus atratus) on the water on its reverse. This species of swan is characterised by its gracefully undulating wings and the colour of its plumage. With its wings folded, it gives the impression of being all black. It only surprises in flight when it reveals its white wings. The motif includes the initials of the author "JM". The inscription "THE 1 OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN SILVER SWAN" is on the reverse.
The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark with the initials "JC" and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA", the year of issue "2022" and the face value. The coin has the status of Australian legal tender under the Monetary Act 1965.
The coin comes in a protective plastic capsule and is limited to a mintage of just 25,000 worldwide!
