Iconic Australian Swan 2024
This unique silver investment coin, minted by the Perth Mint in 2024 in the finest 99.99% pure silver, weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), bears the Mint's swan symbol on its reverse, which is also part of its logo. The Australian Swan coins were launched in 2017 and a new original design is available for each year.
The reverse of the coin depicts a view of a white swan flapping its wings as it settles on the water's surface. The design is complemented by a night sky and the mint mark "P125", which symbolises the 125th anniversary of the mint. The description of the coin reads "2024 1 OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN SILVER SWAN".
Although the black swans are primarily associated with the land of the proto-Natives, there is a wild flock of white swans on the Avon River in the historic town of Northam in Western Australia. The swans, whose ancestors were brought here by settlers in 1896, have found a natural nesting ground and have become a popular attraction. They are cared for by volunteers who feed them every morning.
The obverse of the coin shows a portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne with the initials 'DT'. The portrait on the rim is accompanied by the inscriptions "CHARLES III", "AUSTRALIA", and the face value "1 DOLLAR". The coin has the status of Australian legal tender under the Monetary Act 1965.
The coin comes in a protective plastic capsule and is limited to a mintage of only 25,000 worldwide!
