Somalia - African Wilderness
The Republic of Somalia African Wildlife series silver investment coins minted for 2023 in the finest 99.99% pure silver with a weight of 1 kilogram have been issued since 2004 by the Bavarian Mint in Munich, Germany (Das Bayerische Hauptmünzamt Mint) with a history dating back to 1158.
The reverse side of the coin depicts a detailed view of an elephant devouring leaves, which it plucks from a tree branch with its trunk. The rim is inscribed with the words "AFRICAN WILDLIFE", "ELEPHANT", "1kg Ag 999.9".
The obverse side of the coin depicts the heraldic symbol of the Republic of Somalia - two leopards holding a shield with a five-pointed star. Below the shield are two crossed spears entwined by a ribbon and two crossed palm leaves. The obverse bears the inscription 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' accompanied by the year of issue and the denomination.
