On the reverse side of the coin, Canadian engraver Ryan Poser has rendered a 3D statue of Santa Claus surrounded by presents along with Christmas elves. While Santa is checking this year's gift list, his helpers are putting the finishing touches on Christmas preparations. The model is cast in sterling silver (925/1000 Ag) and is placed in the center of the coin. The scene is surrounded by a Christmas garland which, like the edge of the coin, is selectively gold plated. As you tilt the coin, you can watch the merry elves circling Santa. The inscription "CANADA", the year of issue "2022" and the initials of the artist "RP" are included.
The obverse bears a gold-plated portrait of Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, which matches the edge plating on the coin. The background of the coin is engraved with a Canadian design. The description of the coin states the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "D.G.REGINA" and the face value "50 DOLLARS".
The coin is housed under a glass dome with a wooden base. A black cardboard box with the mint logo serves for protection. A numbered certificate of authenticity is included. The mintage of the coin is limited to 1,200 pieces for the whole world!
