Predators 3 Oz great white Shark - double sided High Relief
A unique silver coin issued by the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire for 2022 and minted in the purest 99.9% silver weighing 93.3 g (3 Oz) in Antique Standard, this coin is part of the Predators series, which will gradually introduce wildlife representatives processed in double-sided high relief. The shark was chosen for the third coin in the series.
On the reverse side of the coin, High Relief embossing technology is used to achieve an elaborate sculptural likeness of the shark in its natural marine environment. The shark is ready to attack with its jaws open. The motif is surrounded by the weight "3 OZ", the fineness "999 AG", the inscription "PREDATORS - SHARK" and the year of issue "2022". The motif also includes the name of the Belgian manufacturer P. De Greef and the maker's mark.
The White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias), often called the Man-eating Shark, is present in all seas and oceans. It belongs to the top of the food chain, the only enemies being killer whales and humans. Sharks can reach lengths of around 7 metres and weigh more than 3 tonnes. Their food is marine fish and mammals (especially pinnipeds).
The obverse side of the coin unusually uses the same high relief minting technology as on the reverse side. The motif depicts a dramatic scene of a shark leaping above the water, catching a sea lion. The national emblem of Côte d'Ivoire with the inscription 'REPUBLIQUE DE COTE D'IVOIRE' and the face value '5000 FRANCS CFA' is inserted in the upper part of the image. The edge of the coin is numbered and corresponds to the certificate.
The coin comes in a luxury wooden gift box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 750 pieces for the whole world!
