Original silver coin with natural mother-of-pearl inlay issued by the Solomon Islands State for 2025 weighing 2 Oz (62.2 g) in the purest 99.9% silver Proof quality. The coin is dedicated to the plant symbolizing feminine elegance, good fortune and wealth, the peony.
The coin bears a peony flower on its reverse, formed by natural mother-of-pearl. The stamens are formed by a gold-plated brass insert. The background of the silver coin consists of peony flowers and leaves, which include the coin's name "PEONY" and the year of issue "2025" on the underside.
The peony (Paeonia in Latin) is an ornamental perennial with large, showy flowers that can be full or single, most often in shades of pink, white, red or yellow. Its leaves are dark green, deeply divided. It grows mainly in Europe, Asia and North America, with most species native to China. In traditional Chinese medicine, peony has a long history, primarily due to its root, which is used to treat inflammation, pain and to promote blood circulation. Peony is associated with beauty, wealth, honour and love. In Asia, it is considered the queen of flowers and is a symbol of good luck, prosperity and feminine elegance.
The obverse depicts a portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne in the inner circle, with the artist's initials "DT" along with the inscriptions "CHARLES III", "SOLOMON ISLANDS", the weight and purity of the metal and the face value "5 DOLLARS". The outer rim is made up of floral motifs.
The coin comes in a stylized box with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 1,500 pieces for the whole world!
