Rectangular Dragon 2025 1 Oz Gold
A gold investment coin, issued by the Australian Perth Mint for the year 2025 in the purity of the purest 99.99% gold weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g), represents a significant symbol of abundance and power in an original form - a Chinese dragon in a rectangular coin format.
The reverse of the coin bears an elaborate motif of a Chinese dragon interpreted by experienced medalist Lucas Bowers with the initials of the author of the design "LB". The overall image of the legendary creature is stylized for an unconventional format. It includes the mint mark "P" and the year of issue "2025".
In Chinese mythology, the dragon has the highest position in the hierarchy of beings. This mythical creature of divine origin symbolizes strength, luck and abundance and is a permanent sign of power. At the same time, it is perceived as the personification of the sun, light and life and is worshipped as the lord of the weather and water elements.
The obverse of the coin depicts a portrait of King Charles III. by Dan Thorn with the initials “DT”. The top of the coin features the name “CHARLES III”, the state name “AUSTRALIA” and the bottom features the weight, fineness and denomination of the coin “100 DOLLARS”.
The coin comes in a protective capsule, with a limited mintage of a “lucky” 8,888 pieces worldwide!
The coin is Australian legal tender under the Currency Act 1965.
