This exclusive High Relief gold coin, issued by the Perth Mint in 2017 in premium proof quality of the purest 99.99% gold and weighing 1 Oz (31.107 g), is dedicated to the Wedge-tailed Eagle.
The coin depicts a wedge-tailed eagle perched on a branch on its reverse, surrounded by the inscription "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" and the Perth Mint's issue, weight, fineness "2017 21z 9999 GOLD" and initial "P". The majestic wedge-tailed eagle, found predominantly in Australia, is one of the largest eagle species with a wingspan of up to 2.5 metres and is easily identified by the distinctive appearance of its wedge-shaped tail feathers. The obverse features a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain by Ian-Rank Broadley with the initials 'IRB' and the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II', 'AUSTRALIA' and the denomination '100 DOLLARS'.
The coin comes in a deluxe wooden box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 500 pieces for the entire world!
