This exclusive High relief precision silver coin, issued by the Perth Mint in 2017 in premium proof quality in absolute finest 99.99% pure silver weighing 31.1g (1 Oz) is dedicated to the Wedge-tailed Eagle.

The reverse of the coin depicts a wedge-tailed eagle perched on a branch, surrounded by the inscription "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" and the Perth Mint's issue, weight, fineness "2017 1oz 9999 SILVER" and initial "P". The majestic wedge-tailed eagle, found predominantly in Australia, is one of the largest eagle species with a wingspan of up to 2.5m and is easily identified by the distinctive appearance of its wedge-shaped tail feathers. The obverse traditionally features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley with the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II' , 'AUSTRALIA' and the denomination '1 DOLLAR'.
