Pre-Columbian Collection - 1998 Proof - Toltecs
A rare set of gold coins, the Toltec Collection, issued by the Bank of Mexico in 1998 in the finest purity 24 karat gold in 1 oz, 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz proof quality, is dedicated to pre-Columbian civilizations, this time the Toltecs.
This unique set of gold coins is rarely seen on the market and is therefore highly sought after by collectors and investors alike!
The front of the coins depicts an eagle eating a heart. The eagle was one of the most revered animals in the Toltec civilization. Below the design is the inscription in Spanish "Aguila" (Eagle), followed by the denomination, year of issue and the Mexican mint mark "Mo".
The reverse side of the coin features the emblem of Mexico, depicting an eagle hunting a snake. The inscription above the emblem reads 'Estados Unidos Mexicanos' (United States of Mexico). This is followed by the weight and fineness.
The coins come in a deluxe wooden case in a very limited edition of only 303 pieces for the entire world!
