Silver plated commemorative coin coloured and perfumed

RAZITKO_POSTOVNE_ZDARMA_NENI

Famous Plants of the world series

This exclusive silver-plated coin issued by the Republic of Benin in 2010 from the Famous Plants of the world series features a coloured and perfumed fir tree on its reverse (a unique colouring technique that ensures amazingly realistic colours, the coin is also perfumed with an alpine scent) along with the inscriptions "FAMEUSES PLANTES DU MONDE", "ABIES NUMIDICA" and the year of issue. The obverse shows the national emblem of the Republic of Benin.

The coin comes in a blue gift box with grey and silver trim, along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 2500 pieces for the whole world!

Abies numidica - Numidian fir

abies_numidica

From Morocco and Algiers comes this coniferous gem for small gardens. Originally a tall, green fir, it has been bred into a dwarf form with deep blue-silver needles and is called the Numidian fir.

The needles are short, densely dotted around the twigs. Their colour is basically dark green, but in this variety they are richly streaked with blue-silver in the form of stripes on the top and bottom of the needles. The overall impression is bright blue.

Normal height varies from 1.5 to 3 metres, with specimens in warm countries growing once as tall. It grows very slowly and forms short and densely leaved increments.

It likes moist soil, slightly acidic, well drained and moderately rich in nutrients. It is best suited to light partial shade but will tolerate full sun if well mulched. It prefers warmer sites, but be sure not to plant it in draughty areas or in higher elevations. Otherwise it is fully hardy in most of the country.
