Wonders of Australia - The Outback 2026 Silver
Issued by the Perth Mint in 2026 in the purest 99.99% silver, the 1 Oz silver bullion coin celebrates the wonders of the Australian outback.
The reverse of the silver coin depicts a dynamic scene from the Australian outback. Around a rocky outcrop where a Dingo howls, a riverbed flows with the head of a crocodile lurking, and a couple of kangaroos drink by the bank. On a nearby rock surrounded by Australian flora, a collared agama watches as wedge-tailed eagles fly. In the distance, emus walk against a mountainous landscape. The design is completed by the mint mark "P", the year of issue "2026" and the initials of the author Jennifer McKenna "JM".
The Australian outback is a rugged and fascinating landscape of endless plains, red sand and scorching sun. The iconic Uluru rock, a sacred place for the Aboriginal people, dominates this area. The Outback is sparsely populated, life here is determined by extreme conditions, drought and vast distances. Yet it has a unique charm of freedom, silence and untamed nature.
The obverse of the silver coin, whose outer edge is decorated with illustrations of native Australian flora, features a portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne in the centre, including the author's initials "DT" and the inscriptions "CHARLES III", "AUSTRALIA", the face value and information on the weight and fineness of the metal.
The coin has the status of Australian legal tender and is supplied in a protective plastic capsule. The mintage is limited to 75,000 pieces worldwide!
