Rwanda - USS Constitution
The silver investment coins of the Republic of Rwanda are minted by the German mint BH Mayer Kunstprageanstalt GmbH in the purest 99.9% silver with a weight of 1 Oz (31.1 g). The motif of the coin is dedicated to the American frigate "USS Constitution". The sixth issue of the silver investment coin in the "NAUTICAL OUNCE" series is being released to mark the 225th anniversary of the launching of the USS Constitution, which started her continuous service from 1797 to the present day. The three-masted wooden frigate is docked at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, where she sets sail on important occasions as a museum ship of the United States Navy.
The reverse of the coin depicts the frigate with a stylized compass in the background and the inscription "USS Constitution" incorporated into the waves of the sea. The upper part features nautical tools: binoculars, compass and sextant. The name of the series "NAUTICAL OUNCE", weight, fineness and year of issue complete the coin's rim.
The obverse of the coin bears the heraldic symbol of Rwanda surrounded by the inscriptions 'BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA' and the denomination 'AMAFARANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU'.
