Gibraltar Lady Justice 2023
Issued by the United Kingdom Overseas Territory of Gibraltar in 2023, the silver investment coin is struck by the Scottsdale Mint in the finest 99.9% pure silver, weighing 1 Oz. The series is inspired by the timeless concept of justice through the allegorical figure of Lady Justice.
The reverse of the coin depicts the traditional allegory of Justice. The blindfolded woman is impartial and will not be swayed by the view of the one she judges. In one hand she holds a scale as a symbol of equality. In her other hand she holds up a sword, which gives her the right to enforce justice by force. The description at the top of the coin reads "JUSTICE". The design also includes the Latin motto "FIDES ET JUSTITIA" ("Faith and Justice") and the year of issue "2023".
The obverse bears the coat of arms of the Government of Gibraltar, which consists of the national emblem of the United Kingdom and the coat of arms of Gibraltar, a castle with three towers and a suspended key. The jewel of the coat of arms is divided into two tens by the year of issue '2023'. The description of the coin states the inscription "GIBRALTAR", the weight "1 TROY OUNCE", the purity of the metal "999 FINE SILVER" and the face value "1 POUND".
