The Lion and The Eagle 1 Oz 2024 Silver
The 1 Oz silver investment coin, struck by The Royal Mint of Great Britain in the purest 99.9% silver purity, celebrates the relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States of America on a coin whose mintage combines the national icons - the British Lion and the American Eagle - into one design.
The reverse design was created by John M. Mercanti, former Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. The proud American eagle and the majestic British lion in the inner circle form a harmonious union that symbolizes cohesion and strength. The motif is complemented by the initials of the artist "JM". The outer circle is decorated with laurel branches as a symbol of victory and bears the inscription "THE LION AND THE EAGLE" and the year of issue "2024". At the edge of the coin are the repeating details of the weight and purity of the metal "1 OZ FINE SILVER 999".
The obverse of the coin bears a coin portrait of King Charles III designed by Martin Jennings, together with the initials of the artist. The description of the coin states 'CHARLES III - D - G - REX - F - D' and the face value.
