The Beautiful Journey of the Little Prince
The exclusive silver coin issued by the French Mint Monnaie de Paris in 2016 in the series "Le Petit Prince" in top quality proof, weighing 41 g, is dedicated to the most famous literary work of the French writer and pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - The Little Prince.
The reverse of the coin depicts a coloured motif of the Little Prince lying next to a rose on a small planet. "One day the wind blew an unknown seed on the prince's planet. The prince waited anxiously to see what it would grow into. But the seed took its time, until one day, as the sun rose, the bud turned out to be a beautiful rose flower. The little prince had never seen anything so beautiful before, and he admired the flower greatly. The flower began to take advantage of this. She behaved like a real woman - at times she looked very vulnerable and at other times she looked invincible, for she had her four thorns! The little prince didn't understand the flower, and she began to torment him with her whims, until one day he decided to leave her and his world and go explore the other "planets" and make friends. Only then did the flower reveal that she loved him and did not want him to leave her."
The obverse contains several polygons in the centre of which are two branches - laurel and oak - together with the inscriptions "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE", "50 EURO" and "2016".
