An exclusive High Relief silver coin issued by the Australian Mint Perth in 2019 in premium proof quality from the purest 99.99% silver weighing 1 Oz (31.107g) is dedicated to the Wedge-tailed Eagle. This is the fourth coin in the High Relief design in the Wedge-tailed Eagle series by the famous American engraver John M. Mercanti.
The coin depicts on its reverse the impressive wingspan of the wedge-tailed eagle, Australia's largest raptor and one of the largest eagles in the world. The background of the motif features stylised sun rays. The motif is surrounded by the inscription "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" and the issue, weight, fineness "2019 1oz 9999 SILVER" and Perth Mint mint mark "P".
The majestic wedge-tailed eagle, found predominantly in Australia, is one of the largest eagle species with a wingspan of up to 2.5m and is easily identified by the distinctive appearance of its wedge-shaped tail feathers.
The obverse features a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark with the initials 'JC' and the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II', 'AUSTRALIA' and the denomination '1 DOLLARS'.
The coin comes in a deluxe box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 10,000 pieces for the entire world!
