The exclusive silver coin issued by the island state of Tokelau and minted by the Bratislava Pressburg Mint in 2022 in Proof-like quality with a purity of the purest 99.99% silver weighing 1 Oz (31.3 g) draws attention to the importance of protecting the environment and the resources provided by our planet Earth - Terra.
The reverse side of the coin depicts a map of the continents of North and South America, Europe, Africa and part of Asia. The continental parts are covered with a cashmere pattern, the world's waters are crossed by a dense network of lines. A stylized compass is placed in the Atlantic area. The inner circle gives the coin's name "TERRA 2022", the Latin motto "SERVA ME, SERVABO TE" (Protect me, I will protect you) and the weight and fineness data. The outer circle consists of a numbered circular compass scale.
Earth in Latin Terra is our only home. It provides us with all the resources we need to live, but our actions have left their mark. CO2 levels are now the highest in 4 million years, global temperatures are reaching new highs, glaciers are melting and ocean levels are rising. Therefore, it is important to address the importance of environmental protection and to emphasise the need for cooperation in tackling climate problems, regardless of which side of the planet we live on.
The map on the obverse side follows the map on the reverse side of the coin and delineates Asia, Australia and Oceania. The map incorporates a portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Ian-Rank Broadley with the artist's initials. The inner circle bears the name of the coin "TERRA 2022", the face value "5 DOLLARS" and the inscription "ELIZABETH II - TOKELAU". The outer circle consists of a numbered circular compass scale.
