"Windows of Heaven" series - St. Martin's Window - Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires
This exclusive silver coin, issued by Cook Islands in the "Masterpieces of Crafts - Windows of Heaven" series and precision struck by the German mint B.H. Mayer in 2014, weighing 50 grams in top proof quality, is dedicated to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The silver coin incorporates a detailed coloured glass replica of the cathedral window: St. Martin's Window.
The reverse of the coin depicts a coloured glass window of the cathedral (St. Martin on horseback donating part of his garment to a beggar) surrounded by the interior, ground plan and miniature of the cathedral with the inscriptions "WINDOWS OF HEAVEN", "METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL", "BUENOS AIRES". The obverse shows, next to the window, a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain by Ian-Rank Broadley with the initials 'IRB' and the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II', 'COOK ISLANDS' and the face value.
The coin comes in a presentation transparency frame with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 2000 pieces for the whole world!
