Detailed description
Ultra High Relief - Mask "Grandmother Moon"
This exclusive silver coin, issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2013 in top quality proof - ultra high relief in absolute purity of 99.99% purest silver, is dedicated to the mask called Grandmother Moon.
The reverse of the coin accurately depicts the mask in ultra high relief symbolizing the moon of the American Indians. The motif on the coin is a faithful reproduction of an original Richard Cochrane work, hand carved in the American Indian style in red cedar. Grandmother (Foremother) Moon smiles slightly as she looks down at the Earth. Inscriptions on the coin: "CANADA", denomination "25 DOLLARS", year of issue "2013", artist's initials to the right of the mask "RC".
The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanne Blunt with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "D G REGINA".
The coin comes in a burgundy leatherette box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 6000 pieces for the entire world!
