Australian Lunar Series II - Year of the Serpent
A popular series of Australian lunar coins, the 2013 series is dedicated to the Year of the Snake, the sixth sign of the twelve-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. This exclusive coin is precision struck in 99.9% purest silver weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g) and partially gold plated in 24 carat gold.
The reverse side of the coin depicts a gold plated snake on a tree branch. The design features the inscriptions "Year of the Snake", the Chinese character for snake and the Australian Mint's Perth "P" mint mark. The obverse side traditionally depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the year of issue and face value. The coin is issued under the 1965 Australian Code as legal tender.
The second series of Australian lunar gold plated coins is housed in an elegant wooden box in a limited edition of only 50,000 for the world!
