Pink Full Moon - Niobium
Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2012, this exclusive Niobium silver coloured coin in premium proof quality in the Algonquin Full Moon series is dedicated to the indigenous continent of North America and its inhabitants. The reverse of the coin depicts the Phlox paniculata flower in bloom during the full moon. The inner circle is made of the precious metal niobium, partially coloured in the traditional lavender colour of the Phlox flower, which is a symbol of spring. The outer ring is complemented by the inscriptions "5 DOLLARS" and "CANADA". The obverse depicts a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanne Blunt and the year of issue.
The following coins were issued in this series, Full Moons of the Algonquin, in 2011 and 2012: Buck Moon, Wolf Moon, Hunter's Moon, Full Pink Moon.
The coin comes in a deluxe maple wood gift case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 7,500 pieces for the entire world.
