Detailed description
Series "Biblical Art" 2013
This exclusive silver coin, issued by the Bank of Israel in 2013, is dedicated to famous biblical events, this time the motif David plays to Saul was chosen.
The coin is the eighteenth in the world's popular "Biblical Art" series and features the motif of David playing the harp to King Saul on its reverse. The motif reflects the rise and fall of Saul as described in the first book of Samuel. King Saul is depicted by a light line, which symbolizes his gradual fall, slowly disappearing and leaving behind a royal crown. David, the young shepherd, the as yet unknown future king, is depicted soothing Saul by playing the harp.
The obverse shows a small harp, face value, year of issue, inscriptions are in English/Hebrew/Arabic: "David playing for Saul 1 Samuel 16", "ISRAEL".
The coin comes in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 2,800 pieces for the whole world!
