Windows of Heaven series: window behind the altar - Dominus Flevit Church
An exclusive silver coin issued by the State of Cook Islands in the "Masterpieces of Crafts - Windows of Heaven" series and precision struck by the German mint B.H. Mayer in 2015, weighing 50 grams in top proof quality. The silver coin incorporates a detailed coloured glass replica of the altar window of the church, incorporating elements of 24 carat gold.
The reverse of the coin depicts the Dominus Flevit Church, located at the western foot of the Mount of Olives overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem. The church was built between 1953 and 1955 by Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi, and features an interior, floor plan, the inscriptions "WINDOWS OF HEAVEN", "DOMINUS FLEVIT" and the year of issue. The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Ian-Rank Broadley next to a window, with the initials "IRB" and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS" and the denomination.
The coin comes in a presentation transparency frame with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 2000 pieces for the whole world!
