Grand Interiors series: Royal Palace of Caserta

An exclusive silver coin issued by the State of Cook Islands in the "Grand Interiors" series and precision minted by the German mint B.H. Mayer in 2014, weighing 2.5 Oz in a unique antique design, dedicated to the Royal Palace of Caserta. The originality of the silver coin, already given by its shape, is emphasized by the placement of a miniature marble staircase.

The coin depicts the most famous element of the interior of the royal palace in Caserta, Italy. This palace, whose construction began in 1752 at the request of King Charles IV of Spain, became the largest and most representative royal residence of the 18th century. The entire complex, together with the palace, which contains over 1,200 rooms, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. The reverse of the coin itself shows a staircase leading from the lower lobby to other parts of the palace, which is one of the largest Baroque staircases in Europe. The image is accompanied by the inscription 'PALACE OF CASERTA'. The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain by Ian-Rank Broadley with the initials 'IRB' , the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II', 'COOK ISLANDS', the denomination and the year of issue.

The coin comes in a presentation gift box with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 2000 pieces for the whole world!
