Detailed description
5 Oz Silver Coin with Pearl - Trans-Siberian Railway
A unique silver coin issued by the State of the Cook Islands for 2016 in the purest 99.9% silver weighing 5 Oz (155.5 g) with an inner core made of real mother-of-pearl is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world's longest railway line - the Trans-Siberian Railway.
The inner green coloured mother-of-pearl circle on the reverse of the coin depicts a train of the legendary railway constructed between 1891 and 1916 to connect Moscow with the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. The inscriptions on the outer ring are "TRANS-SIBERIAN RAILWAY" and the face value. The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian-Rank Broadley and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS" and the year of issue.
The coin comes in a deluxe gift box, the lid of which resembles a train view, along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 750 pieces for the entire world!
